Case Study- The UK’s top business coach guides SportsafeUK to award winning standard
Sportsafe UK is a maintenance company for sports equipment and supplies and installs equipment to schools and leisure centres across the UK. With the support of the UK’s top business coach, Peter Boolkah, the company was recently awarded ‘Best Company’ at The Business Excellence awards 2014.
Sportsafe UK was recently awarded ‘Best Company’ at the Business Excellence Awards 2014. The achievement comes on the back of the company’s hard work, determination and success – which founder Jonathon Neill has given special thanks to business coach, Peter Boolkah.
Sportsafe UK approached Peter Boolkah, the UK’s top business coach, in 2008. Since then Peter has worked closely with Neil and Sportsafe UK to develop all aspects of the business, set attainable and measureable goals and objectives, and create strategies to achieve them.
Jonathon set up the company in 1996 after working as a service engineer for 17 years. He was frustrated at the lack of quality customer service and the all-round carelessness he had experienced in the industry. He carried out a survey of 50 local schools, in which 30 said they would prefer to use a more personal, cost effective and efficient service for supplying their sports equipment. So, with a clear gap in the market, Jonathon jumped at the opportunity. However he was told on numerous occasions by the bank that his business wouldn’t work and not to go ahead with it.
Now, 12 years later, Sportsafe UK employs 55 people with offices in Nottingham, Manchester, Surrey and Fort William and continues to grow. The team manages 80 contracts with UK councils, totaling 14,000 individual sites. Sportsafe UK’s contracts have a value of over £15m with a further 4,000 new sites signed up for the year ahead. The business has realistic long-term goals to enter international markets with a 10-year goal to have a Sportsafe International Office in every continent. By the end of this year, the company is aiming to open its first overseas office in Germany. All of which the company largely accredits to the support of Peter Boolkah.
Peter said: “Without a dedicated founder at the core of the businesses any mentoring efforts would be wasted. I truly believe any idea can be developed into a profitable business if you work hard enough and show passion.”
Peter backs up his ‘Best UK Business Coach’ status with a wealth of experience. He’s delivered outstanding results for hundreds of businesses internationally with Sportsafe UK being a perfect example. He believe strongly in growing businesses organically and training up team members from a junior level which is something Jonathon thinks has played a huge part in the current success of the business.
Peter Boolkah recently took home his 58th ActionCoach award. He was also the first UK business coach installed into the ActionCoach European Hall of Fame. Peter strives towards his personal goal to inspire and empower over 100,000 people in creating long term thriving businesses resulting in the creation of 1,000,000 jobs. His expertise in strategic planning proves a key asset to his clients who find his knowledge and practical ability to motivate, focuses their goals and ambitions.
