Vivark showcases career opportunities to Liverpool youngsters

North West facilities management company and social enterprise, Vivark, will be showcasing its services at The Skills Show Experience, an event set up to inspire the future career choices of Liverpool’s young people as part of The International Festival for Business 2014.

Twelve thousand attendees will visit the two-day event, which aims to motivate young people aged 14-25 to make positive career and learning decisions. Vivark, part of the First Ark Group, is among the exhibitors providing a range of interactive activities to allow visitors to discover hidden talents that will help them to shape their futures.

Among those attending The Skills Show Experience are pupils from 60 of the city’s secondary schools. Each exhibitor will demonstrate the career opportunities on offer in key economic growth sectors through a mixture of informative chats and practical ‘have a go’ activities.

Vivark is inviting attendees to participate in a range of facilities management tasks including tiling and basic plumbing. Members of the company’s experienced and approachable team will be on hand to offer expert advice, answer queries and talk about the career opportunities available in facilities management, which includes a wide variety of occupations.

Tony Cahill, executive director at Vivark, said: “The Skills Show Experience is just one way in which the First Ark Group is getting involved with The International Festival for Business. All of our activity at the festival is linked to our social purpose, which is to continually invest in the local community, creating development opportunities and offering chances for Liverpool residents to transform their lives.

“Our team is passionate about what it does and is looking forward to demonstrating the diversity a career in facilities management can offer. Choosing a career path can be a daunting step for any young person and we hope this event can make considering options simpler and help to inspire the next generation of Liverpool’s workforce.”

The Skills Show Experience at The International Festival for Business 2014 runs on the 17th and 18th June at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool, and is supported by the European Social Fund and National Careers Service.
