Paul secures marketing role at growing family firm

A North East security company is continuing to expand after recruiting a new employee to boost its presence in the digital landscape.

NLS Security Ltd - formerly known as Newcastle Locksmiths and Safe Company - a family-run business situated on Newcastle’s West Road, has appointed Paul Young as the team’s marketing assistant and web administrator.

Paul, 30, from Alnwick, holds a degree in Marketing Management from Northumbria University, and completed a one-year marketing placement at Newcastle Building Society during his studies.

After graduating he worked in the operations department of Northumbria Police, and spent seven years as part of the communications team at George F White’s Alnwick office.

At NLS Security Ltd, Paul will be responsible for managing the company’s e-commerce sites - www.esafes.co.uk and www.lockshopdirect.co.uk - creating blog content and banners, designing artwork, coordinating a range of print and digital advertising campaigns and managing social media accounts.

Paul said: “I’m really interested in the fast paced, continually changing nature of online marketing, so the opportunity to join NLS Security Ltd and to take on a primarily digital role really appealed to me.

“The company is already making a name for itself in the online world, and is winning national contracts, so I’m looking forward to building on that success and working with the team to create compelling content, drive more traffic to the e-commerce sites, and increase sales.”

NLS Security Ltd, which is accredited by the Master Locksmith Association, has traded in the North East for 34 years and provides a 24 hour call out service in Tyne and Wear. Further specialist services include supply of new and reconditioned safes, safe installation, safe removal, safe opening, auto locksmith services, car key cutting and car key programming.

The firm employs 14 members of staff, and the premises on the West Road include key cutting services, a large warehouse facility, free parking, a waiting area, a product showroom for locks, safes and security hardware, branded vans and a 10 tonne truck which transports safes across the country.

The company’s e-commerce sites, www.lockshopdirect.co.uk and www.esafes.co.uk offer a wide range of security products with next day delivery.
