The Space Project plugs into The Loop’s superfast connectivity

The Space Project, the newly opened drama and TV production hub in Manchester, has linked up to The Loop, the city’s fibre network, providing ultrafast connectivity to the 360,000 sq ft purpose built complex.

The Loop, part of Gamma, is located close to the new site allowing fibre to be introduced easily and cheaply.

As well as high speed internet connections, the fibre delivers advanced IP telephony and data services direct to the building. The services are underpinned and supported by Gamma’s Network Operations Centre in Manchester’s Trafford Park which employs more than one hundred people.

The fibre network stretches 82 km (50 miles) around the city of Manchester, including central Manchester and parts of Salford, Trafford and east Manchester.

Sue Woodward OBE, Founder of The Space Project said: “We were proud to be The Loop’s first customer at The Sharp Project. It is a fantastic Manchester asset.

“We have forged a partnership that allows us to deliver excellent connectivity to our clients both at The Sharp Project and now The Space Project. The Loop brings dedicated fibre right to front doors. This means we don’t share the internet connection with anyone else so it’s uninterrupted and the speeds are guaranteed.

“Our tenants need access to reliable high speed connectivity and flexible telephony services. Being so close to The Loop, with the infrastructure already in place, has enabled us to connect quickly and cost effectively which is very important to us.”

Ashley Griffiths, Managing Director of The Loop added: “We have been providing high speed connectivity to The Sharp Project for more than a year so it’s great to be able to extend the service to the new site in Gorton.

“Because of our Commonwealth Games legacy, we have a readymade network of superfast fibre buried under parts of Manchester such as Gorton and Newton Heath that other providers don’t reach. This means we can offer companies in these areas competitively priced premium grade connectivity and telephony services which can make a massive difference to their business.”
