Intermedia Presents at Identity Management Conference 2014

Intermedia, the world’s largest one-stop shop for cloud IT services and business applications including hosted Microsoft Exchange, archiving and backup, collaboration and file management, today announced that Ed Macnair, senior vice president of identity access management and managing director EMEA, is scheduled to present at the Identity Management Conference 2014 on Wednesday 18th June at the Hotel Russell, London at 2.40pm in the main plenary.

The conference programme, organised by Whitehall Media, is designed to educate decision makers on current developments affecting the management of authentication to business applications for information assurance. Topics covered during the conference include authentication; cloud computing challenges and opportunities; enterprise single sign-on (SSO); entitlement management and governance risk and compliance.

Ed Macnair will be speaking on the topic of “Embracing the Cloud without Losing Control”. The presentation will look at how CIOs can prove their compliance with data protection and financial regulations while fully embracing the cost and productivity benefits of cloud services and applications.

“The increase in the number of organisations using cloud services is driving CIOs to extend existing, on-premise level enterprise security and identity to manage and audit the use of web applications,” says Ed Macnair. “The availability and ease of deploying web applications has increased the incidence of employees using unauthorised applications to process corporate data. This, coupled with the fact that CIOs are faced with more employees using personally-owned devices for access, makes it difficult for CIOs using existing identity and access management solutions to tightly govern and audit user access in the cloud. With Intermedia, CIOs can fully embrace the benefits of cloud deployments while ensuring they comply with data and financial regulations.”
