Cheshire FA invite businesses to kick off their new initiative
The Cheshire Football Association is inviting businesses from across the county to engage with them and pledge their support for grassroots football.
With the World Cup currently taking place in Brazil, Cheshire FA is launching this initiative with a view to forging partnerships, looking to further enhance investment into the game and promote the benefits of playing.
The launch is an opportunity for businesses to get involved with a sport that plays an integral role within local communities and see how they can support its further development.
Formed in 1878, Cheshire FA is the official governing body for football in the County and over the last decade the association has helped to invest over £25 million into football in the county through facilities and infrastructure.
The game in Cheshire currently has tremendous reach with over 50,000 players taking part in various forms of football on a weekly basis, aided by the support of over 4,000 volunteers.
Nike has already seen the benefit of entering a partnership with Cheshire FA in the last 12 months, with many of the biggest football clubs in the county signing up to their exclusive Nike Partner Club scheme.
David Weir, Nike FA Partnership Lead said: “Working with the Cheshire FA has provided Nike with a great platform to connect and support grassroots clubs in the county, the close partnership and strategic investment has seen an increase in grassroots clubs in Cheshire proactively engaging with Nike.”
Cheshire FA is now looking to extend their network of partners to create further investment and opportunities to improve football development in the county and to give the potential stars of the future the best possible grounding.
Simon Gerrard, Cheshire FA Chief Executive, said: “Having governed the nation’s favourite game in Cheshire for over 135 years, Cheshire FA is always looking for ways to help improve the way we develop and invest into football.
“The game is currently showing what a powerful impact it can have by uniting the globe at the World Cup in Brazil, at a grassroots level it also has many benefits including social, health and welfare, which is why are committed to keep driving investment and development.
“We are asking businesses to come and talk to us to see what opportunities we can provide and how they can help support football in their local communities.”
