Harrogate gym entrepreneurs celebrate firm's 3rd birthday by doubling in size

Harrogate gym which opened its doors in 2011 has marked its third birthday by doubling the size of its premises.

CrossFit HG3, which is located on Pannal Business Park and owned and run by fitness experts Andy Ruddick and Pete Davis, focuses on strength and conditioning without using conventional machines and workout.

Andy Ruddick said: “Setting up CrossFit HG3 was a very big step for Pete and myself, particularly as the crossfit ethos was by no means well known at the time.

“However, over the last three years the gym has developed to such an extent that we have now doubled the size of our floor space, something we certainly didn’t envisage back in 2011.

“Many of those who came for a tentative look around in our very early days liked what they saw and still train with us today.”

Pete said: “When we launched CrossFit HG3 the country was in a deep recession and many gyms were going to the wall.

“The last three years have been challenging but incredibly enjoyable and I am delighted we took the bold step that we did.

“The beauty of Crossfit is that it is suitable to anyone of any age, and the strength and conditioning routines we coach are manageable for everybody.

“Classes we run for mums are one of the best attended and so too is another solely designed for children.

“Our free weights continue to be a draw for many – men and women – and have now become a British Weightlifting Affiliated Strength and Conditioning facility.”

CrossFit HG3’s Community Day is being held between 9am and noon on Saturday, July 12, at Pannal Business Park, Station Road, pannal, Harrogate.
