Cream of British film and creative industries gather in Liverpool
Leading talent from across the global film and creative industries will gather in Liverpool at Dream Factory, one of the highlight events of the IFB 2014, which is taking place on 14-15 July.
The event will provide a platform for the high calibre of home-grown talent to aid and inspire the creative and film professionals of the future.
Dream Factory will focus on the entirety of the creative process: from the conception, fund-raising, making and selling, to the marketing, promotion and distribution of motion pictures. It will be presented by the masters of the international film industry responsible for blockbuster movies such as Gangs of New York, Paranormal Activity, W/E, Get Carter, Welcome To The Punch, Locke, The Sweeney and A Single Man.
Attendees will be treated to a host of special screenings, including that of BBC Earth’s most ambitious 3D nature film to date, Enchanted Kingdom, which is set for release later this year. The immersive film promises to take cinemagoers on the trip of a lifetime to experience what life is like in Africa.
Delegates will also have the opportunity to pitch movie ideas to a panel of experts such as Jeremy Baxter of Pinewood Pictures and Chris Moll of Creative England.
Launched by the Prime Minister who hailed Britain a ‘nation of geniuses’, IFB 2014 is the biggest business festival in Britain for 60 years and the largest global gathering of business events of 2014. Running for 50 days throughout June and July across Liverpool and the North West, the Festival covers all key industries to celebrate iconic and innovative creativity and businesses.
Stuart Ford, Curator, Dream Factory and Founder and CEO, IM Global, said: “The Dream Factory promises to be a vibrant, informative and richly entertaining two-day immersion into the best of British and international cinema.
“It is fantastic to be part of the International Festival for Business showcasing the richness of the UK’s creative industry. The Festival is not to be missed and I’m very excited to be in the thick of the action.”
Max Steinberg, chair of IFB 2014, said: “Internationally, one of the characteristics most commonly associated with the UK is its creativity; whether in music, design, gaming or in this case film.
“The city has a strong worldwide reputation for film making, and in the past year alone the Liverpool Film Office has worked with Hollywood blockbusters, major period dramas and international documentaries.
“Because of this talent base, there is nowhere better for Dream Factory to take place. By showcasing UK industry to a global audience, as well as providing a unique opportunity to the skilled professionals of the future, Dream Factory captures the essence of IFB 2014.”
