Leading housebuilder supports Ellesmere Brownie centenary celebrations
A leading housebuilder is helping a group of Ellesmere’s youngsters celebrate the Big Brownie Birthday, marking 100 years of the much-loved organisation.
Persimmon Homes has contributed £500 towards the Ellesmere District Brownies’ four-day adventure as part of the group’s national centenary.
Stephen Cleveley, sales director for Persimmon West Midlands, said: “The marketing suite of our latest development is due to open in Ellesmere next month, so when we heard that the local group was planning a four-day trip to celebrate the 100th birthday of the Brownies, we were pleased to be able to help.
“The Brownies offer girls a great childhood opportunity to explore and learn, and this adventure will be a memory our Ellesmere youngsters can share all their lives.”
The children will visit Ty Clwyd, a multi-purpose residential centre run by Girlguiding Clwyd in North Wales, during August to take part in a range of activities, games and crafts.
Lois Thompson, for Ellesmere Brownies, added: “The centenary trip will be a marvelous experience for the girls and one we wouldn’t be able to provide without the support of local people and businesses like Persimmon Homes. We are very grateful for their contribution.”
Waterside View, off Canal Way, is a small development of 64 three and four bedroom homes, designed to suit first time buyers, growing families or downsizers keens to live in the popular North Shropshire town, with prices starting at just £149,950.
