National Express deal a transport of delight for Liverpool's summer events
Liverpool has secured a major sponsor to help put its big outdoor events on the right road this summer .
National Express has been appointed as the official coach company for this summer’s giant event Memories of August 1914 and the Liverpool International Music Festival (LIMF).
As part of the agreement, coaches travelling across the country will be emblazoned with banners advertising one of the events, promoting them to hundreds of thousands of people.
Along with the coach wrap, there will be a six week poster campaign across 11 coach stations including Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Oxford and Sheffield. There will also be an email to around 900,000 National Express customers encouraging them to come to Liverpool.
Assistant Mayor Councillor Wendy Simon, said: “It’s fantastic news that such a well-known and established brand as National Express are one of our official partners for these two major events.
“The advertising we will receive as a result of working together is not only worth tens of thousands, but it also goes some way to letting the rest of the country know about our unique offer in terms of events.
“We know that the return of the giants and LIMF are both generating a buzz in the city, but it’s great to be able to spread the message wider and encourage visitors from outside of Liverpool to spend time here and see for themselves how we excel when it comes to hosting free, outdoor extravaganzas.”
Tom Stables, Managing Director of National Express said, “We are delighted to be associated with these two fantastic events taking place in Liverpool this summer.
“Our coach network delivers great value travel for people travelling to Liverpool from towns, cities and airports across the UK and we look forward bringing many visitors to enjoy what this great city has to offer.”
