North East boiler and heating spares suppliers expand with third branch

North East boiler and heating spares suppliers Flame Heating Spares is set to open a third trade counter in the region after growing turnover to £1.4 million in three years.

Established by entrepreneur John Savage, Flame Heating Spares launched in 2011 on Team Valley Trading Estate in Gateshead, with a second counter following a year ago in Dragonsville, Durham.

Now, the company is looking to continue its expansion as it looks to complete a deal on a third site to open in the Autumn.

Having started out as a warehouse assistant with a chain of plumbing and heating spares trade counters at the age of 17, John built his career up to management level with some of the industry’s leading firms before deciding to establish his own business at the age of 31.

The company now employs seven people across its two sites, three more than a year ago, with the figure aimed at reaching double figures by the end of 2014.

Between managing director John and Sales Director Gary Riseborough, the company is led by almost 50 years of experience in the industry and supplies parts for all domestic and commercial boilers, as well as a growing range of new and renewable technology.

John said: “We have had a fantastic first three years, putting our experience into establishing Flame Heating Spares as a major name in the heating trade in the North East.

“With the establishment of our second counter in Durham last year, we have started the growth of our chain across the region and we are looking forward to tying up the third site and opening in the Autumn.

“I have known for a long time that this is something I wanted to do and it is hugely rewarding to be continuing this growth, employing more people across more branches.”
