Warrington office development gets £4.7 million make-over

A Warrington office development has got a brand new name and address as well as getting a £4.7 million transformation.

Thomson House at Birchwood Park has been renamed 401 Faraday Street following a complete refurbishment of the interior and exterior space.

Renamed to align the new modern building with new developments on the Park, such as 305 Bridgewater Place, the name reflects a new identity for this sleek new office space.

The 401 Faraday Street refurbishment is one of the biggest investments by the Park and full completion is due by autumn 2014, with the ground floor ‘hub’ opening in May.

Designed by BDP and Fuse, the new-look 401 Faraday Street will offer high quality office space, available on both short- and long-term lets and in a range of sizes, from 800 to 18,000 sq ft.

As part of the refurbishment, 401 Faraday Street will offer occupiers access to collaborative work spaces and the latest technology, including state-of-the-art iPad stations.

The development also boasts a range of dining options, including Birchwood Park’s familiar Starbucks cafes.

Jonathan Walsh, managing director of MEPC Birchwood Park, said: “The building formerly known as Thomson House is one of the Park’s longest standing and most familiar office developments.

“The scale of our redevelopment means we are creating a brand new building; it’s completely different to what was there before, and will be transformed inside and out; so it makes sense to give a new building a new name.

“It’s the perfect way to welcome a new era in the Park’s history.”
