North East website design agency hails international success
A North East based website design agency is celebrating after significant contract wins spanning the globe.
Geonet Solutions which is based in Darlington has recently won contracts worth more than £50,000 and has taken on four new members of staff to deal with the increasing demand.
The thriving company has appointed Scott Wood as frontend developer, Emily Scott as backend developer, Chris McQuillan as creative manager and Rosie Whelpton as business development manager.
Recent significant contracts include Whessoe Engineering Ltd, the Association of Air Ambulances, Teesside University and Aberdeen House which is based in Sydney, Australia and assists the Australian government.
The flourishing business also has clients in the USA, Canada and across Europe.
Geonet Solutions specialises in creating bespoke websites with unlimited scope across a range of companies and industries. Bespoke websites offer a unique way for companies to showcase themselves and their work in order to stand out from the crowd.
The innovative web company was set up in 1997 and is now run by Mike Overfield, who took over the business in 2010 after leaving a successful career in engineering. Mike took over Geonet Solutions as a future investment for his son Jonny, who is employed in the business as a creative graphic and web designer, and his young team.
Mike commented: “Having spent most of my life running an extremely busy engineering firm, it is rather strange to now find myself involved in a rapidly expanding Digital Web Design Studio. However there are some similarities, both businesses contain young ambitious staff eager to embrace new technology, both have a vision to constantly improve and innovate new services and help our ever expanding customer base.
“I am extremely proud of the progress we have made in such a short period at Geonet Solutions and I am constantly amazed at the power of the internet that allows a web design studio based in the North East to reach out and build relationships with clients in over twelve countries around the world.”
Geonet Solutions currently employs eight members of staff across Darlington and York with plans to take on a new member of staff in 2014. The expanding company also hope to move into new offices to cope with their growth.
