FiB brings family business issues to the table with new member services
National organisation for family businesses and their owners, Families in Business (FiB), has unveiled additions to its portfolio of support services for its rapidly growing family business members.
FiB provides consultancy services, membership and support to family businesses and works with professional advisers throughout the UK. It has developed a number of new feature services in response to demand from family businesses canvassed through consultations.
Amongst the new services is the ‘FiB Insight Group’ for members, which will be launched in Birmingham next month, before a roll-out across the UK later this year.
Additional products now available to FiB’s membership include a unique diagnostic tool, ‘FiB Compass’, and, ‘FiB Check-In’, a one-to-one coaching package.
“Our portfolio of services and products for members is organic as it’s vital we continue to evolve to respond to the changing and growing needs of the UK’s family businesses,” says Dani Saveker, CEO of FiB (pictured).
“FiB Insight gives our family business members the chance to become part of a trusted peer group of between five and ten individuals,” she explains. “It is borne out of our appreciation of how challenging and lonely it can be when in a family business - either as a leader, next generation leader, family member, or senior executive.
“The group meets every other month with the aim of bringing family business issues to the table in a confidential discussion and debating forum where family businesses feel safe, amongst non-competing, like-minded individuals who know all too well the day-to-day idiosyncrasies inherent in many family firms.
“A trained member of the FIB team will facilitate the Insight sessions, to allow group members to feel secure about opening up about the often delicate and personal challenges they face in the business, so they can be clearer and more confident in their decision making and roles.”
Group members can choose to attend an additional FiB Insight Expert Forum hosted by one of FiB’s professional advisers within its growing UK-wide network of exclusive partners and service providers dedicated to working with family businesses.
“These will focus on key issues such as ‘how to value your business’, ‘presentation skills’, ‘how to get the most from social media’ or ‘directors duties’,” explains Dani, “and FiB Insight members can invite family and colleagues to join them for these practical sessions.”
