Five reasons to co-work
We know first hand that running a small business is hard work and you can often feel as though you’re the only person in the world who understands what you are going through. When you feel like things are really getting on top of you or if you just want to experience an office set up rather than using the dining room table, co-working days are for you.
1) Meet like minded people
Those of us who run our own business know only too well how lonely it can be when working alone, but working for yourself doesn’t have to mean working by yourself. Co-working events are a great way to meet people who know and understand how it feels to own a business.
2) Feel part of something
Anyone who has ever worked in an office knows that the banter can be great, spending hours with colleagues who become friends, laughing and joking about things that happen both inside and outside of work. However when things turn sour and office politics come into play, the office can be the worst place to be. Co-working gives you the chance to experience the office banter without the politics.
3) Human Interaction
Nowadays we spend so much time interacting with computers that social media has made us quite unsocial. Working in a room filled with other business owners gives you the option to work on your own business in a room full of people rather than on your own. Co-working events are a great way to make good connections and business friends.
4) No effort networking
If dragging yourself along to networking events and conferences is your worst nightmare, co-working days could be perfect for you. With no pressure to make connections and provide leads co-workers can get to know more about you and your work simply by working alongside you for the day.
5) Learn something new
Colleagues on Tap co-working days feature a ‘SpoT chat’ session, an informal but structured chat about a topic of interest to the group. From backing up your data to the best ways to market your business, these ‘SpoT chats’ are a great way to share experiences, learn and pass on knowledge to a group of like minded people.
