High demand for new homes in Bagworth

Homes at a new residential development named in loving memory of a brave little boy are proving so popular that nearly two thirds have sold already.

Buyers are being urged to hurry if they want to live in Bagworth as the homes being built at Harley’s Place prove to be a success.

Persimmon Homes North Midlands is creating the development, which has been named in memory of Harley Staples, who died in 2009 aged eight from a rare form of leukaemia.

The builder has pledged to donate £100 to The Harley Staples Cancer Trust for every home purchased at the development. The trust, set up by Harley’s parents Katherine and Jamie Staples, also won £250,000 in a national charity competition run by Persimmon Homes in 2012.

Sherrie Hankin, head of sales for Persimmon Homes North Midlands, said: “We are delighted at how popular this development has been. We are only building 60 homes here and have already sold nearly 40. We are especially pleased as it means money is also being raised for the trust.”

Located off Jackson Road, Harley’s Place is a picturesque development of two, three and four-bedroom homes which are surrounded by countryside, including a swale. A new Spar is also due to open this autumn and already the builder has sold two of its six apartments above the store.

Sherrie added: “These stylish new apartments are ideal for first-time buyers, young couples and investors. We believe the Spar will become a real asset for residents as it will be the only convenience store in the village. We also have a selection of two and three-bedroom properties available in various designs.

“Harley’s Place is in a lovely spot, with beautiful countryside nearby as well as good commuter links to the M1. It is perfect for people starting out on the property ladder and also for families and, with Help to Buy available, moving could not be easier.”

Help to Buy is a Government-backed shared equity scheme. It provides a 20% loan on the term of your mortgage, which is interest and repayment free for the first five years, while people only need a 5% deposit.
