Engineering Firm achieves ISO 14001

A BRADFORD engineering firm has signaled its commitment to growth by achieving the environmental standards certificate ISO 14001. Partline Engineering of Dockfield Road, Shipley, has successfully achieved the accreditation across its organisation which includes Aire Erosion, based in Pudsey, Leeds. It is a key plank of the company’s ambition to grow through new and existing markets and sectors at home and overseas. Specialising in the manufacture of components to the auto, rail, air, nuclear, gas and oil sectors the family run business is now well placed to press on with the next stage of its growth strategy with a robust environmental management system in place. “We have always worked hard to be responsible manufacturers conscious that we have a responsibility to the environment, the community in which we operate as well as our customers and suppliers,” said Director, Richard Clark. “Partline wanted to formalise its environmental credentials to prove we were a responsible manufacturer and also signal to our prospective customers they could be guaranteed of our standards,” he added. “The benefit of working towards the ISO 14001 was that we started to look at our whole operation and analyse other areas that we could improve so it has had a knock on effect. “We will now be able to plan further expansion into sectors and with customers for who this is a vital part of the engineering offer,” he added. In the last 18 months the company has invested more than £500K in new plant and increased its skilled staff by ten. “Partline and Aire Erosion has a robust five year plan and this ensures that we are on track to implement it and deliver on our targets,” he added.
