Preston business solutions firm expands after securing £80k of new work
Preston Farm-based Cornerstone Business Solutions has secured almost £80k of work in the last six months, due to lucrative deals clinched with companies in the engineering, manufacturing and drinks sectors.
As a result of the new work the company has made a triple appointment to strengthen its team and position the business for future growth.
Lois McCleary has joined the firm as a PA/ receptionist, Robbie McCormick comes on board as an apprentice engineer and Nathan Lunn has been appointed as a salesman – taking the total number of staff at the company to 15.
Cornerstone said the new recruits would help it achieve its goal of adding a further 25% to annual turnover, which currently stands at more than £1 million.
Managing director Chris Petty, who masterminded the opening of Cornerstone’s Dubai office last year, said: “We’ve taken on three staff in the last three weeks and we hope to recruit another four in the next couple of months.
“We have a strong order book for the rest of 2014 and we expect further growth in subsequent years due to the technology boom.
“Businesses and individuals are capitalising on the increasing number of everyday gadgets that are being connected to the internet. Now you can stream movies directly to your television or connect your staff to a virtual server that can be accessed via the cloud.”
Launched in 2008 at the height of the credit crunch, Cornerstone provides business-critical technologies including network upgrades, software repairs, start-up packages and advice on streamlining for established businesses.
Its growing corporate client portfolio includes Middlesbrough Football Club, Camerons Brewery and Butterwick Hospice and it has also teamed up with global giants IBM, Microsoft and Cisco to provide technology solutions for businesses.
