Jobs lost as Kingdom Buffet shuts its doors

The internationally-inspired, all-you-can-eat buffet located on the first floor of the Haymarket Metro Station, has closed its doors this week.

Kingdom Buffet, which opened in 2012, was part of the £2 million project lead by Nexus to redevelop the station into the “Haymarket Hub.”

The restaurant served a variety of dishes from around the world. It received a rating of two out of five with “improvement necessary” in a food hygiene inspection run by Newcastle City Council late last year.

In the London Gazette, Green Moat Ltd, the trading name of Kingdom Buffet, have announced that a meeting of creditors will take place on 30 July.

The meeting will occur at the offices of Rowlands Restructuring & Insolvency in Yarm, where joint liquidators are expected release a full list of names and addresses of the company’s creditors.

The amount of job losses is currently unspecified.
