Flextronics Family Fun Day raises £2,500 for Clatterbridge
Bosses from Warrington-based Flextronics were put in village stocks and pelted with wet sponges as part of a fundraising day that raised £2,500 for The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.
The stocks were just one of the highlights at the ‘Family Fun Day’ held at the Village Hotel in Warrington, with an ‘It’s a knockout’ contest, cake sales and a tombola with prizes including iPads and laptops also helping to add money to the pot.
Kim Hunt, Customer Services Manager at Flextronics, said: “It was great to get everyone together with their families and have so much fun raising money for such a fantastic cause. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day - even the managers who were great sports and got absolutely soaked in the stocks!”
Flextronics, which handle repairs and reverse logistics for some of the world’s largest technology companies, has recently chosen Clatterbridge as their ‘Charity of the Year’.
Kim added: “The family fun day was the first of many events we’re planning in in order to raise money and awareness of the amazing work Clatterbridge do. We’re thrilled that everyone got into the spirit of the day and delighted with the final total.”
