Taylor&Emmet Experts Recognised for Family Support

Four family law specialists from Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet LLP have earned official recognition of their work to improve parental collaboration during separation proceedings.

The quartet is being acknowledged by Help and Support for Separated Families (HSSF), which identifies professionals couples can trust to work in the best interests of their children.

Taylor&Emmet’s head of family law, Michaela Heathcote, head of childcare, Deborah Thompson and fellow matrimonial solicitors, Fay Bunting and Lucy Rogers, are eligible to use the quality mark after achieving Resolution accredited specialist status. The national body represents lawyers committed to the constructive conclusion of disputes and was the first organisation to be awarded HSSF approval.

Michaela said: “By displaying the HSSF mark, we are demonstrating our commitment to reducing conflict between couples and encouraging them to focus on their children’s wellbeing. Parents need help when their relationship breaks down and we want to make it easier for them to find experts who provide non-judgemental support, advice and solutions to the problems encountered during separation.”

The HSSF initiative brings together existing services that promote collaborative working and meet government standards aiming to reduce conflict between parents during separation proceedings.

Michaela Heathcote is both a Resolution accredited specialist and a Collaborative Lawyer. She leads one of the largest family law teams in South Yorkshire, offering clients a range of alternatives to court proceedings. Taylor&Emmet also provides independent mediation services through sister company, Hallam Mediation, which has offices across South and West Yorkshire.
