Vince Cable opens new Harrogate distribution centre

EnviroVent, the manufacturer of energy-efficient and sustainable domestic ventilation products, welcomed the secretary of state for business, innovation and skills, the Rt Hon Vince Cable, to mark the official opening of the company’s new distribution centre in Harrogate on 28 July.

Continuous and rapid growth has led to the expansion of a new distribution centre to give EnviroVent the space to increase its product lines and respond to demand quickly, whilst also creating new jobs in the local area.

The company’s strong history of investment in R&D has proved fundamental to its growth; over the last decade, ventilation technology has evolved in line with new legislation to improve energy efficiency and the demand for technologies such as heat recovery systems has risen sharply. EnviroVent say that the success of new innovations will not only contribute to growth but will also secure the company’s financial future.

Managing director, Nick Heaton, said: “The official unveiling of EnviroVent’s new distribution centre and manufacturing facilities recognises the company’s sustained growth through tough economic times. This demonstrates that through our continued investment and commitment to developing new innovations, we have been able to expand and grow, resulting in new jobs and a boost to both the local and national economy.”

Dr Cable said that he was delighted to be officially opening the new distribution centre, describing EnviroVent as “an outstanding local company”.

One of few domestic fan manufacturers in the country, EnviroVent is the only ventilation company in the UK to offer its customers a complete service solution from design and manufacture through to installation and after-sales service from its franchise network. Named SME Manufacturer of the Year in 2013, the Yorkshire-based business has created 60 new jobs in the past 12 months, adding a welcome boost to the region’s economy.
