Bodybuilder opens fitness centre in Darlington
Bodybuilder Wendy McCready’s new Planet Fitness in Darlington has opened thanks to chartered surveyors Sanderson Weatherall, on behalf of Morrison’s at Morton Park.
The fitness centre has opened in the 1,500 sq ft unit behind the supermarket, just off the A66.
Wendy has worked at gyms across the UK and has been a professional bodybuilder with the International Federation of Body Builders, competing around the world, for ten years.
Wendy said: “The site is perfect for establishing a pay as you go gym that offers health and fitness without being tied to a contract, which is something not on offer elsewhere in the town.
“The location is ideal, with a growing number of people working in this part of Darlington who can drop in before or after work, or during their lunch break, and I am grateful to Sanderson Weatherall for helping us to complete the lease.”
Other recent lettings on the site have included new sites for equestrian equipment retailer Pony Kit and global snack food firm JLM Foods.
The lettings continue significant activity in the commercial property market on the Eastern side of Darlington, with the growth of the Yarm Road Interchange Business Park, where Sanderson Weatherall has recently completed a number of deals to bring occupiers to the site.
Additionally, the firm has negotiated the sale of the former MSD Cranes premises on McMullen Road to Tees Valley Mitsubishi, creating the potential for the business to expand. This followed offers from a number of parties who were interested in acquiring the site.
