Grant Thornton UK strengthens its corporate finance team in North West
Grant Thornton UK LLP has appointed Matthew Bryden-Smith as director in its corporate finance practice in the North West, as part of the firm’s plans to grow its northern corporate finance advisory practice.
Grant Thornton has also made a similar appointment in Yorkshire.
Mr Bryden-Smith joins from WEMS International where he was Finance Director, prior to which he gained over 14 years’ experience in corporate finance in his role as a partner with boutique firm, Rickitt Mitchell.
In his new role, he will be based in the firm’s Manchester office, and will focus on the Manchester and North West deals market as well as supporting the firm’s wider audit, tax and advisory services across the North of England.
Ali Sharifi, head of corporate finance at Grant Thornton said: “Matthew is a welcome addition to the Grant Thornton corporate finance team. His experience is invaluable and his appointment is just part of an overall growth plan for the team in the north.”
Mr Bryden-Smith said: “It is great to be back in corporate finance. What I enjoy most about working in this area is supporting a wide range of clients as they grow and create value in their businesses.”
As part of Grant Thornton’s corporate finance advisory team in Manchester and the North West, he will work closely with colleagues in the North East, operating as an integrated Northern corporate finance advisory team.
His appointment coincides with the appointment of an additional director, Richard Goldsack, who will be based in Yorkshire and has over 13 years’ corporate finance experience both in the UK and Australia.
