Simply Thank You send their millionth smile
Darlington-based Simply Thank You, a leader in Client Engagement Solutions, is celebrating its millionth order since installing top of the range software in its North East head office.
Simply Thank You has been providing corporate services since 1993, and installed brand new e-commerce software just a few years ago in order to meet increasing demand for bespoke gifts, flowers, treats and hampers.
Orders can be placed via phone, email and website. Last Thursday, the 31st July, head office staff celebrated together as Group CEO Colin Eglington accepted the millionth order into the online system. The order marks huge success for the company, one of the first ‘flowers by mail’ services which began with a modest point of sale stand in Newcastle airport and has enjoyed exponential growth ever since.
The significant order was placed by a multi solutions company, who ordered a best-selling Cheese, Dips and Pate Hamper. This order moved the count into seven figures at around 11am, when Simply Thank You staff popped party streamers and made a toast with cups of tea.
Over 3.5 million orders have now been placed with Simply Thank You by customers and companies worldwide. Flowers and gifts are prepared in an on-site warehouse, where up to 3000 orders a day are picked, packed and beautifully wrapped before being sent out by courier.
Customer Service Manager Ian Fenwick says the millionth order is more than just a number; it’s a testament to his Customer Service team, who process every order and provide advice and concierge support, allowing people to order off-catalogue items.
He comments, “We view the millionth order as recognition of years of hard work and dedication. Maintaining our high standards of service has paid off. We’ve helped pick gifts for movie stars and sportsmen, and honoured all kinds of poignant events, from new babies to 100th birthdays. It reaffirms our faith in humanity that so many people want to treat each other, and makes our best efforts all the more worthwhile. Here’s to the next million.”
And it looks like the team won’t have to wait long for the next milestone, as Simply Thank You continues to expand overseas. With services now available in Western Europe, Australia, India and the Philippines, the future is bright for STY and its new ventures.
Group CEO Colin Eglington says of the expansion, “When we installed the new software just a couple of years ago I didn’t think we’d be celebrating its millionth order so soon, but it just confirms that we should keep pushing forward with the development of the company. We have really exciting things on the horizon, and with every order we get that bit closer.”
