Beamish Tigers roar to success

Beamish FC, which competes in the Gateshead Youth League, has benefited from new strips, thanks to a donation from its Stanley-based neighbours, Hodgson Sayers.

The building and roofing specialist is committed to helping the local community and, as such, the under-8s team - also known as Beamish Tigers - has gratefully received 10 new football kits and training jackets.

Steve McGough, Beamish FC Team Coach, said: “I would like to thank Hodgson Sayers for the new strips, the boys were very eager to receive them. We were thrilled when the company said yes and also provided us with the additional training jackets and tracksuits. As a community-based club it is great to get a helping hand from one of our neighbours.”

John Sayers, Managing Director at Hodgson Sayers, said: “When I found out about the request from Beamish Tigers we were more than happy to supply the team with new kits. We have pledged to support the local community, whether this is through company time or a donation.

“It is good to see young children enjoying the benefits of exercise and proudly representing their home town. We have been to the ground to meet Steve and the team and they are a great bunch, we wish them the best of luck with the season ahead.”

Established in 1979, as Hodgson & Allon, the company began primarily as a roofing contractor. Over the years it has developed and diversified considerably to include building works, fencing and metalwork fabrication.

Its ISO 9001 accredited operations are reflected in the consistently high standards of delivery, presentation and all processes.
