Solar panel installers set to create 85 jobs in Doncaster
Solar panel installers i-Power Systems are set to create 85 new jobs when they move from their current base in Shireoaks, near Worksop, to Heaven’s Walk at Lakeside in Doncaster.
Doncaster Chamber said the move showed how the town is been seen as a great place to do business by the wider region.
The company will more than double its total workforce to 150 from 65 when it makes the move. New positions to be created include sales representatives, surveyors and installation engineers.
Dan Fell, deputy chief executive officer, said in the South Yorkshire Times: “This is very welcome news for Doncaster and yet another sign that the town’s economy is recovering and transforming.
“Doncaster is extraordinarily well located, has flat and developable land, a supply of good value labour and, increasingly, is being seen as a good place to do business.
“The decision of yet another firm to relocate to the town again highlights the attractiveness of the borough as good place for businesses to invest and grow.”
Managing director Nigel Wallace said: “We have quite a number of employees who live in the Doncaster area and other staff members have decided to relocate.
“Lakeside is a great business hub and our new office is an excellent, modern space. We are pleased this will help to boost the town’s economy.”
