Success of SCX Special Projects leads to office expansion
The SCX Group’s Special Projects team, whose work includes everything from providing the technical solution for the retractable roof at Wimbledon to designing a bespoke transporter bridge for lifting jet engines at Rolls Royce, is growing so rapidly that it has had to increase office space at its Sheffield headquarters.
The extension to the building will increase space by nearly 60% to accommodate the specialist engineers, project managers and technical professionals who work in the division.
Simon Eastwood, Managing Director of the SCX Group, says: “Our list of clients keeps growing as our expertise and experience becomes even more recognised not just in the UK, but overseas as well. The construction works, including a refurbishment of the existing building, ensures we have the best possible facilities to help us continue to deliver the innovative designs and bespoke solutions which our clients expect.”
The SCX Group is one of the UK’s leading specialist engineering providers of lifting solutions and moving structures. It has three separate divisions – Street Crane Xpress, Burnand XH and SCX Special Projects – which all offer specialist services within the heavy lifting field.
SCX Special Projects provides bespoke solutions for any kind of mechanical handling system, no matter how unusual the scenario, working with clients in a wide range of industries from nuclear, military and aerospace to theatres and entertainment.
