You’re hired! Chorley solicitor eyes second legal eagle

One of Chorley’s oldest law firms is looking to recruit its second apprentice following the outstanding achievements of its inaugural hire.

Katie Norris, 19, from Leyland joined Kevills Solicitors to support its ambitious growth plans. Her duties include providing administrative assistance to its team of legal experts that specialise in family and matrimonial, litigation, conveyancing and commercial law,

Katie is completing a Level 2 Business Administration Apprenticeship with the help of Runshaw Business Centre. On the completion of her training, she will be promoted to the position of junior secretary.

She said: “I’ve always had a keen interest in business and law and being part of a small team means that I have the opportunity to assist with client cases and gain a wide range of experience.

“I would advise anyone who is looking to pursue a career in business administration to follow the same route I did, which enables you to gain paid work experience and a nationally-recognised qualification.”

Simon Robinson, partner at Kevills Solicitors, added: “Katie’s commitment, drive and eagerness to learn have been admirable throughout her apprenticeship and having taken on increasing responsibilities, we’re now on the hunt for another apprentice to take over her role as junior administrator.”

Adrian Roscoe, business centre manager at Runshaw College, concluded: “From day one Katie has flourished and quickly become an integral part of the team.”
