‘The last two years have been very hard but thanks to local support, commitment and sheer determination, over 40 business now advertise in the magazine and I need to increase its size again to meet demand.’
As well as advertising local businesses, content includes employment advice, competitions and a monthly editorial on both Darlington Football Club and Darlington RFC. In addition, advertisers are also promoted through the magazines social media accounts.
John Knowles, owner of JAK Print based in Darlington advertises in the magazine and said, ’I first met Angela at a meeting in Darlington when she was just about to launch her business.
‘We’ve advertised our business in Darlington Monthly since it began in 2012 and we have been delighted with the response our advert has received. It’s a must for business owners who are looking for exposure in the area.’
The magazine is distributed to various venues in the Darlington area including supermarkets, hospitals, doctor’s surgeries and restaurants. Advertising space is also donated to the Darlington Fundraising Group for Macmillan and St Teresa’s Hospice which are charities closer to her heart.
