Grants available to North East businesses wanting to enter the Indian market

North East businesses have been invited to capitalise on lucrative international opportunities by the ERDF funded NECC Access Programme this autumn.

Access India is offering companies the opportunity to visit the regional capitals of Bangalore and New Delhi, from 6 to 11 October 2014, with a financial grant of £1,000 available for eligible North East businesses to take advantage of, as part of the bespoke package.

Access India has been working with the UK India Business Council devising a visit programme featuring a series of organised B2B meetings, networking events and company visits, alongside a number of in-depth briefings, workshops and seminars focused around doing business with India in Bangalore and New Delhi.

Access Programme Leader, Nynzi Maung said: “Although local companies unfamiliar with India might regard Mumbai as the obvious first point of call; they should not ignore other regional capitals, where the commercial opportunities are considerable and competition from other international companies weaker.”

Nynzi continues: “There is a natural fit between the North East and Indian economies with our region’s companies offering goods, technology, services and expertise in areas India has identified as critical for rapid economic development. These include finance, infrastructure, energy efficiency, vocational skills, education and healthcare – so the opportunities are considerable.

“The financial support of £1,000 will go a considerable way towards enabling companies to participate in this unique, business support package and I would urge any North East business looking at India as a potential market to sign up for this unmissable opportunity.”
