Hot 100 placing for Lancashire’s Tangerine Holdings
Tangerine Holdings, which is based in Lytham and specialises in the manufacture and sales of veterinary products, has moved up from 38th up to 28th in the latest edition of the ‘Lancashire Business Hot 100’ review.
The review consolidates and ranks Lancashire businesses based on their last annual accounts.
In the year ended 30 June its sales have again increased from £16m to £17m and pre-tax profits were up 25 per cent to £1.8m.
Stuart King financial director at Tangerine Holdings said: “It’s been a great year all round. We have invested a huge amount in our facilities, particularly R&D and manufacturing over the last two years and this investment is now paying off.
“Our Vet Division has been particularly strong with sales rising by more than 22 per cent for the period ending 30 June 2014.
“This has in the main been driven by a huge leap in our exports which continue to exceed expectations.
“We’ve got some great people, some great products and a very clear view of where we want to be in five years’ time. When you have this combination the results follow naturally.
“Although our plan has been to grow both organically and by acquisition in the last two years we have not been able to identify any suitable targets, so our growth has been purely organic which is very pleasing.
“Profitability has remained strong despite problems in our farming business and this has allowed us to continually re-invest our profits back into the business, something the Chairman is very passionate about!”
