Newcastle cocktail bar to create 15 jobs
Hay & Kilner Solicitors and Sintons LLP have teamed up to oversee an investment in a startup leisure business that will see the opening of a new cocktail bar in Newcastle, initially creating around 15 new jobs.
The investment was made by local entrepreneur Steve Grainger, into Tiger Hornsby Events Ltd, a business established by former Diageo executive Rachael Frame.
The first venue to open, “Tiger Hornsby”, will be on the site of former Julie’s nightclub on Newcastle’s quayside and is due to open at the beginning of September.
Rachael said: “Tiger Hornsby will be a completely fresh take on the cocktail bar experience – it is taking the greatest cocktails back to basics, all made with the finest ingredients, fantastic service, in a completely friendly and un-pretentious atmosphere. Securing the investment has enabled us to transform the venue into a unique space where we can deliver a truly fantastic experience for our customers.”
Mark Adams, leading corporate lawyer at Newcastle based Hay & Kilner, acted for Steve Grainger in his significant investment in the business. Steve’s investment will support the growth plans of Tiger Hornsby as it plans to establish itself as one of the leading leisure companies in the region.
Matt Collen, partner in Sintons’ Commercial Team advised Rachael Frame and said: “It’s great to see more innovation and investment happening in the leisure sector in the North East and we wish Rachael and Steve all the best with their new venture.”
Steve Grainger, who has a track record of backing successful businesses including leading digital agency Enigma Interactive, commented: “When I first met Rachael I was bowled over by her professionalism and vision, and I’m convinced she will make a huge success of Tiger Hornsby. For timing reasons we needed to complete the deal quickly, and I was thrilled with the way Mark Adams of Hay & Kilner, and Matt Collen of Sintons who advised Rachael, recognised this and were able to work together to achieve this.”
