County Durham catering firm goes from strength to strength

A Seaham-based catering company, which was set up in March this year, have just recruited a new member of staff to help meet growing demand.

The Creative Catering Company was started by Rebecca Edwards and Donna Tunney when the pair realised there was a clear gap in the market for a quality, locally produced yet affordable catering service.

The Creative Catering Company is based at Byron House on Seaham Grange Industrial Estate, which is owned and managed by Arch who bought the units in January 2014.

The inspiration for The Creative Catering Company came to Rebecca when organising her daughter’s christening and struggling to find the right caterer for the job.

Joint managing partner Rebecca Edwards said: “Each company I looked at I found to be very expensive and I couldn’t find any options I liked for the right price, so I ended up doing the catering myself. That’s when Donna and I got together and decided to set up on our own”.

“We offer a whole host of options from the original buffet through to canapés, corporate lunches, private celebrations, weddings and business events. We cater for all tastes and all budgets, everything from £3 per head to over £20 per head and our service is 100% tailored to our customers’ needs. We want to be known for the quality of our products and our fair pricing structure and our emphasis on establishing trust. It is this approach which is rewarding us with a 90% referral rate and bringing in more business”.
