Spire Washington Hospital creates job after £1.2 million investment

Spire Washington Hospital has invested £1.2 million in a new CT scanner, enhancing its existing service and creating additional jobs.

Previously the private hospital made use of a mobile unit available once a week from its hospital in Rickleton.

The installation of the static CT machine ensures scanning is available seven days a week and within 24 hours of a referral.

This development makes Spire the only private hospital in the region to have a purpose built facility.

The hospital is investing a further £400k is currently being invested in upgrading Spire Washington Hospital’s fluoroscopy room.

Shelagh Alderson, director of Spire Washington Hospital, said: “Over the last two years we have invested a significant amount of money in upgrading our facilities and these latest developments underline our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and putting patients at the heart of everything we do.

“The continued development of this department reflects the hospital’s ongoing priority which remains to provide individualized first class care for all our patients in a safe and pleasant environment.”
