Skelton firm wins major contract with national biodiesel producer
Pipeline Precision Engineering has won a major contract from Harvest Energy, one of the largest producers of bio diesel in the UK.
The North East designer and fabricator has carried out fabrication and installation work on additional storage for Harvest Energy, which supplies more than 10% of the UK’s motor fuel requirements and operates a 250,000mt per year capacity plant at Seal Sands.
It is the second Harvest Energy deal for PPE, following a similar project last year.
PPE carries out vessel, piping and structural fabrication for the international oil, gas and petrochemical sectors.
The firm has recently also been awarded a substantial contract for a subsea pipeline pigging installation for the North Sea.
Managing Director Simon Hannar said: “PPE has had year on year growth since starting up five years ago. Our strategy of spreading our workload across local, national and International projects allows us to provide security for our existing local skilled workforce and has also allowed us to recruit six local young apprentices.
“We work very closely with both NOF Energy and UKTI to increase our UK and international client base and are in the process of appointing a number of overseas representatives.”
Paul Livingstone, Business Development Manager at NOF Energy, said: “The NOF Energy network exists to underpin the work our members are doing around the world.
“Pipeline Precision Engineering has achieved a remarkable level of success in a short time and is helping spread the word about the North East’s unique set of skills and experience.”
