Urban Splash completes Liverpool’s largest property deal this year
Regeneration company Urban Splash has announced the biggest private letting in the Liverpool region to services giant Amey – totalling 65,000 sq ft of space.
The letting is equivalent to approximately one-third of the entire reported take-up across the Liverpool region last year.
In the 11th deal completed by Urban Splash at the development since January, Amey are taking out a new lease on its existing space at the Matchworks estate as well as adding a further 16,000 sq ft of offices.
Head of asset management at Urban Splash, Claire Thomas, oversaw the revised deal and said: “To retain a tenant of this size and calibre is testament to our offering as a landlord and I am delighted to accommodate Amey’s revised requirements with the additional space.
“Deals like these help the Matchworks continue to prove itself as one of the most pioneering commercial developments in the Merseyside region. This letting surpasses many in the region this year and is equivalent to approximately one third of the entire take up of all of the suburban regions in 2013 combined. Completing transactions of this scale reinforces the growing confidence in the market and drives employment within the local area. It is very encouraging to see massive corporations like Amey decide to anchor themselves here.”
