International rail group to bring its head office to Doncaster

Austrian and Swiss rail group Rhomberg Sersa is the latest international company has taken a unit at West Moor Park, Armthorpe in Doncaster for their UK head office.

The multi-national company, which has an with turnover of more than 300 million euros, has provided services to many high speed rail projects throughout continental Europe.

The Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group are among the world’s leading Slab Track technology companies providing manufacturing, installation and design services that meet the needs of high speed rail infrastructure.

Doncaster’s bid to bring the High Speed Rail College to Yorkshire and the North is also backed by Rhomberg Sersa.

Carl Garrud, Managing Director of Rhomberg Sersa who now works out of Doncaster, said: “Choosing Doncaster will enable the company to establish key contacts with the numerous rail and engineering businesses already based in Doncaster and Yorkshire. This clustering effect was an important factor when deciding to base our UK operations in the town.

“The Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group has a number of in house rail academies where our engineers and track staff are trained to the highest standard, giving them the tools to deliver to our exacting standards. The development of the Rail College in Doncaster would be an exciting part of our strategy to develop our business.”
