Sage UK is the first FTSE100 to have Google Business View
Sage UK, the FTSE100 business software and services company, has revealed its headquarters on Google Business View.
Google Business View invites users to virtually tour the modern premises in panoramic 360° views.
The first FTSE100 business to invite tours of its head office on Google Maps, Sage is opening up the building to allow its 1,500 employees to show friends and family where they work and to inspire the next generation of North East entrepreneurs.
Seen by the 4.5 million passengers who use Newcastle Airport each year, travellers have locally dubbed the building designed by the IDPartnership ‘space invader’ or the ‘space ship’.
The Google Business view took three days to photograph at Sage’s offices at North Park, Newcastle upon Tyne.
More than 5,000 photographs were taken and digitally stitched together by the local Google Trusted Photographer, Steve Newcombe, over a few weeks to create the 360-degree virtual tour.
Brendan Flattery, CEO, Sage UK & Ireland, explained, “Sage is a British success story and one that the North East is right to be proud of. Since starting over 30 years ago, we’ve grown to support more than 800,000 businesses in the UK and millions globally, but not many people get the chance to set foot inside our doors. We’re embracing a pioneering way to change that and to champion the local area.
“The North East has a long history for innovation and success, and we hope by doing this – and by our work partnering with fantastic initiatives like Ignite100 – we can inspire the next generation of tech entrepreneurs to carry on that tradition.”
To encourage people to explore the building, the Sage team have hidden eight items around the offices and are running an online ‘treasure hunt’ that celebrates the best of the North. The prizes showcase the City’s fantastic hospitality and include a stay at Malmaison Newcastle; dinner for two at Six restaurant, BALTIC; and two tickets to a show of the winners’ choice at The Sage Gateshead.
