Commercial law expert to speak at Giant’s Shoulders event
The Giant’s Shoulders, a recently formed franchise-focused collaboration, has added to an already impressive set of sponsors for its upcoming event, with major law company Linder Myers Solicitors now among its backers and its senior partner Bernard Seymour confirmed as a keynote speaker.
Seymour will give a talk at ‘Your Franchising Journey Made Easy’, an event taking place at the Park Inn by Radisson on Thursday 18th September between 6pm – 8.30pm. Aimed at individuals considering business ownership as an alternative career or investment, the event is being hosted by The Giant’s Shoulders, a partnership between three unique companies, all of which work within the franchising sector: Mr Franchise, Engage Web and Kate Mackenzie Events.
With his rich background in commercial law, Seymour’s career has seen him act as Deputy District Judge for the Northern circuit. He joined Linder Myers in 1979 and held the post of managing partner for more than 14 years. Having assisted a number of national and local organisations in relation to their business structure, growing their client base and entering new markets, attendees are sure to glean plenty from listening to his advice and experience.
Talking about his involvement at the event, Seymour said:
“Franchising is becoming an increasingly attractive option within an economic climate where many individuals are looking for alternative investment opportunities or simply looking for a change of career, perhaps following redundancy.
“Owning a franchise business provides individuals with the opportunity to take on an existing and successful brand and make it their own without the risk of starting a new business from scratch. This event brings together like-minded individuals and experts and I look forward to helping today’s entrepreneurs along their future journey to franchising.“
Linder Myers is headquartered in Manchester but also has offices in Cheshire, Lancashire and Shropshire where it provides legal expertise to both private and commercial clients . Perhaps of particular relevance to the business-themed event will be the firm’s specialism in franchising.
The law firm joins a lineup of sponsors comprising headliner Bake and Take, business support groups Grassroots HR and Business Doctors, and franchise companies Ableworld, Concept Building Solutions, Bright & Beautiful, Not Just Travel, Natwest’s Franchise section, and Morris & Co. Chartered Accountants.
Kate Mackenzie, managing director of Kate Mackenzie Events, explained:
“Many of us reach a crossroads in our careers and the aim of our event is to help those who are thinking about stepping out into business ownership to feel empowered to take that step via the very well proven model of franchising.“
