Cobalt Business Park promotes sustainable travel
Thousands of staff at Cobalt Park, the UK’s largest office park in North Tyneside, will be offered a host of quirky ways to embrace green travel throughout the forthcoming Cobalt Go Smarter Week, Tuesday 16th to 22nd September 2014.
Go Smarter encourages people to think about choosing sustainable modes of transport across Tyne and Wear.
The 12,500 plus workforce on site will be given the opportunity try out some unique forms of transport during their lunch hour including Segway scooters, Quad bikes and state of the art electro assisted folding bikes.
These machines will be brought to the site as part of an event encouraging people to leave their cars at home, supporting European Mobility Week.
Business development manager at Cobalt, Lynn Cramman, said: “Over 12,500 people currently work at Cobalt we are growing all of the time, we ensure we stay ahead of the field by offering all the most recent and numerous initiatives to urge our workforce to adopt sustainable methods of travel, such as cycling or using buses rather than driving”.
“My passion is sustainable transport, but these unusual modes of transport have been invited along as a fun thing for people to try out”.
