High speed Stagecoach service links Liverpool and Chester
National transport company Stagecoach has introduced a new super-quick bus service to improve travel links between Liverpool and Chester.
The new X8 route connects the two cities in around 45 minutes - providing what the company describes as ‘a reliable and frequent’ bus service from the centre of the Chester to the heart of Liverpool. It also offers passengers free onboard Wi-Fi access.
The service runs seven days a week, every 30 minutes from Monday to Saturday, and every hour on Sundays and bank holidays.
Elisabeth Tasker, Managing Director at Stagecoach, said: “This is set to be an incredibly popular route, which connects people in Liverpool and Chester with some of the best leisure, shopping and tourism activity in the North West.
“Shoppers from both cities are now able to reach brilliant retail and leisure destinations including Cheshire Oaks, Liverpool ONE and great family attractions like the Blue Planet Aquarium and Chester Zoo in under one hour.
“We’re focused on delivering a fast, affordable and friendly service for our passengers and launching this new route is no exception. Taking the bus is fast becoming the most convenient and sustainable transport option and we want to encourage people to leave the car at home, and try this equally fast option instead.”
The service runs from Chester Foregate Street and the Rail station to Hoole Road, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Ellesmere Port bus and rail stations. It then travels up to Bromborough and by motorway to Liverpool, where it terminates in the heart of the city centre.
