SteelPhalt dinner celebrates successful 50 years
Rotherham road surface specialist SteelPhalt celebrated its 50th anniversary with a gala dinner at the town’s New York Stadium.
It was a memorable evening to honour and acknowledge all the people who have been involved in the success of the company and to thank employees for their dedication and hard work.
Among the guests were representatives of SteelPhalt parent company Harsco Metals, including Graham Stubbs, the Vice President of Operations, Rick Lundgren, Group President of Harsco Metals and Minerals, and Rudi Weckx, Operations Director of Harsco Europe.
Also present were former and current members of the SteelPhalt team, hauliers, clients from the steelworks industry and major customers and suppliers.
SteelPhalt has been developing and manufacturing high performance asphalt products for the UK road making industry since 1964, sourcing slag cost-effectively from the surrounding steel industry and providing a sustainable way of making asphalt, with at least 95 per cent of the product the result of the recycling process.
Based at the Ickles in Templeborough, SteelPhalt is ideally located to source slag cost-effectively from the surrounding steel industry.
The company works in partnership with councils, local authorities and contractors nationwide to deliver durable roads for a sustainable world.
