Sunderland games developer grows its team by four and is still recruiting
Sunderland-based gaming business, Coatsink, is set to recruit more staff, having hired 4 new members recently.
The new recruitment is a byproduct of the company’s financial growth, with its current £350k turnover projected to increase to £550k by next year.
The company moved to Sunderland Software Centre in 2013, which is part financed by the European Regional Development Fund Programme, and currently employ 13 people.
The core of Coatsink’s recruits come from North East universities, namely Newcastle, Durham, Northumbria, Sunderland and Teesside, although the company are reportedly looking to expand further afield before the year’s close.
The company are currently developing two new games, Shu and Superglad, having released five games to date.
Alongside the two new games the company is developing on the PC platform, Coatsink is also updating its releases, having recently completed updates for the game CHIP.
Managing director, Tom Beardsmore, said: “Everyone here at Coatsink has a real love of games and the gaming industry and are really proud to be part of a community that is genuinely thriving here in the North East.
“We made the move to the Sunderland Software Centre to accommodate further growth and I am delighted by how quickly that has happened.
“Things have been going really well for us here and we hope to see that continue with the launch of two new games that are in the final stages of their development.”
