Coventry sports and leisure centre gears up for National Fitness Day

A Coventry sports and leisure centre is hoping to power-up support for National Fitness Day by boosting its gym and fitness offering.

Coventry Sports and Leisure Centre, in Fairfax Street, is urging people to sweat it out on its new Technogym Range in support of National Fitness Day on Friday, September 26.

National Fitness Day is the largest celebration of physical activity in the UK with hundreds of clubs, parks and leisure centres opening their doors to encourage more people to get energised and take up sport.

In preparation for the event and to meet a rise in activity, Coventry Sports and Leisure Centre, managed by Coventry Sports Trust, has upgraded its Inspire Fitness equipment and extended its Technnogym range.

Richard Parker, centre manager, said: “With the Centre scheduled to stay open for another five years, we are always looking at ways to improve our facilities and ensure that we offer the highest quality sports equipment to help improve training.

“The Technogym range can help with cardio and strength training with a variety of real-time monitoring programmes and tests to monitor development and wellbeing.

“The new Cardio Wave is already proving highly popular with both male and female members with its unique side-to-side and up and down motion a great exercise technique to work the glutes and legs.

“Coventry Sports and Leisure Centre now offers over 75 classes a week, plus a thriving gym floor, with members also able to take advantage of a wide range of swimming activities and for those looking to join there is currently no joining fee.”
