Durham Tees Valley Airport continues to upgrade facilities
Durham Tees Valley Airport has upgraded its passenger facilities with the opening of new catering services.
The main users of the new facility will be the many business passengers who use the popular KLM service from Durham Tees Valley to Amsterdam Schiphol, to link to services worldwide.
Moreover, it will benefit workers regularly using the Eastern Airways link to Aberdeen.
The airport master plan announced earlier this year, set out plans to reposition the airport to concentrate on business scheduled services and general aviation, as well as reconfiguring the terminal to meet the needs of the market, the new catering services being a prime example.
The Swissport lounge and café, located in the departure area, provides a wide choice of hot and cold food and drinks, with a seating area where passengers can enjoy their refreshments as they wait for their flight.
The master plan for the future development of the airport includes proposals for reconfiguring the terminal to further meet the needs of business and scheduled service passengers.
Airport manage, Shaun Woods, said: “The new facilities are available for all passengers and complement the existing Executive Lounge.
“We have also created a soft seating area immediately outside the new lounge and café, again improving the experience for passengers”
