Ricoh Arena to host ultimate classic car showcase

Classic car owners will be in motoring dreamland when a specialist show returns to the Ricoh Arena.

Autojumble (Midlands) was such a success in January that it will be back at the 6,000 sqm Jaguar Exhibition Hall in 2015.

Hundreds of the UK’s top specialist traders in classic, veteran and vintage car parts will be exhibiting along with stands packed with automobilia, automotive literature, models, tools, trim, restoration services, garage equipment and individual garage clearances between 10am-4pm on Sunday, January 4.

Andy Rouse, of organisers AMR Events, said this was the ideal show to help car owners with their winter restoration and maintenance projects after the Christmas and New Year holidays.

He said: “Classic car owners do huge amounts of restoration and preparation work on their cherished cars during the winter months ahead of the first perfect spring driving day or their car’s first outing to a show.

“The best places to find parts and services for classic cars are, of course, autojumbles but, at precisely the time when they’re needed the most, the winter weather makes outdoor autojumbles impossible for all but the hardiest traders and enthusiasts.

“That is why this year we launched Autojumble (Midlands) in a very large, fully heated, purpose-built, modern building with great facilities, centrally located right in the middle of England and easy to find just off Junction 3 of the M6.

“It’s a superb opportunity for enthusiasts to find all those essential parts, services and products needed to help with their ongoing classic car restoration, maintenance and preparation projects and a much-needed boost at an otherwise quiet time of year for traders due to the lack of sizable indoor events.

“Our launch event was very well received which is why we have decided to return and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the Ricoh Arena on January 4.”

Chris Owen, senior events manager at the Ricoh Arena, said classic cars owners were extremely passionate about making sure their vehicles were in tip-top condition.

“It is an ideal time of the year to hold an autojumble because everyone is looking forward to spring and the warmer weather after the festive break,” he said.

“The first Autojumble (Midlands) in January attracted large crows of motoring enthusiasts who were able to buy the parts they had previously been unable to find.

“We are delighted the show is coming back to the Ricoh Arena and we are working alongside the event organisers to make sure it is even better next year.”

Tickets will be available from www.theautojumble.co.uk priced at £8 in advance (£10 on the day) while under-16s are free when visiting with a paying adult.
