Middlesbrough housing company to create 50 new homes

Middlesbrough based housing company, Erimus Housing, has began work on three Middlesbrough sites to provide more than 50 homes.

Erimus has started work at the site of the former Fulbeck House flats in Netherfields, which were demolished in 2009, as well as two Park End sites, Penrith Road and Cornforth Walk.

Erimus Housing, part of the Thirteen Group, will provide 28 homes at Netherfields, 18 at Cornforth Walk and eight at Penrith Road, in partnership with Southdale Construction.

With the help of HCA grants totalling more than £1.2m, the Netherfields site will produce two two-bedroom bungalows and 26 two-bedroom houses and Penrith Road will have two two-bedroom bungalows and six two-bedroom homes.

Cornforth Walk will also have two bungalows, two three bedroom homes and 14 two bedroom homes.

The Thirteen Group owns and manages over 32,000 houses in the North of England and has become one of the North East’s ten largest employers, since it was created from the merge of the Fabrick Housing Group and Vela Group earlier this year.

Former chair of the board for Erimus Housing, Mike Carr, said: “We’re very pleased for the communities, that work has started on these three important sites.

“Providing affordable housing is integral to Thirteen’s work and having the patience and support of the residents is the essential element in the mix.

“When these projects are finished residents will have a wider choice of housing built by local contractors, which will all help keep money in the Teesside economy.

“At Netherfields and Park End, residents have the same vision as Erimus Housing – to make their communities brighter and safer and give families the futures they deserve.”
