Baker Tilly relocates and condenses in new Leeds office

Baker Tilly’s Leeds office has been relocated after the firm signed a four year lease for 6,000 sq ft of space at Springfield House in Wellington Street.

Around 90 employees have taken up residence in Springfield House, while the 160 staff at Baker Tilly’s main Leeds office in Whitehall Quay remain unaffected.

The relocation to Springfield House follows an agreement to assign the remaining seven years on the lease for the 6th floor of Wellington Place to a third party.

Kevin O’Connor, Baker Tilly’s regional managing partner for Yorkshire and the North East said: ’Following our merger with RSM Tenon last September, we found we had two long term leases in the City and too much space for our needs. Neither office had enough space to accommodate the 250 people we now have working for Baker Tilly in Leeds.

“We therefore accepted that at least in the medium term we would have to operate out of two sites.

‘By assigning the Wellington Place lease and entering into a new agreement to move into Springfield House, we have reduced office space by a third, significantly reduced our overheads and maintained our extremely strong presence in the centre of Leeds - with our two offices now just two minutes’ walk from each other.’

Baker Tilly is now one of the largest accountancy firms in Leeds with 24 partners and 230 staff offering a full range of audit, accountancy, tax, corporate finance, restructuring and business advisory services to clients across Yorkshire.
