Peaceful village life at new High Wycombe site

House hunters will be given the chance to enjoy peaceful village life at a unique new development near High Wycombe.

Persimmon Homes North London has acquired land off Slade Road in Stokenchurch and plans to build 37 houses, 11 of which will be ‘affordable’ housing.

The development, on the site of a former school, will be known as Scholars Rise and will be launched in the New Year.

The properties will be a mix of two, three and four bedroom houses.

Persimmon Homes North London regional chairman Andrew Hammond said: “Residents of Scholars Rise will enjoy the peaceful surroundings of village life – but they will also be within easy reach of the town of High Wycombe. Its location couldn’t be better in relation to the M40 motorway with junction 5 just minutes away.

“This development is sure to be popular with first-time buyers, those with growing families and investors.

“It’s a really nice location and we’re delighted to be pushing forward with our plans.”

Stokenchurch is one of the main places in the UK where the Red Kite, formerly an endangered species, can be spotted. They were reintroduced to the area by the RSPB and English Nature with assistance from Paul Getty, the American millionaire and philanthropist. In clear weather more than 20 may be seen at one time.

High Wycombe is an attractive large town in Buckinghamshire, less than 30 miles from Charing Cross in London. The town has recently enjoyed major investment, including redevelopment of the town’s shopping centre, completion of the new Eden Shopping Centre and redevelopment of the Buckinghamshire New University.
